Programming Ethics into Games

January 12, 2011

As Ethics, Gaming and Play have emerged as popular fields of study, there has become a need to define the area in terms of its challenges and its position within the current state of gaming. Ethics and Game Design: Teaching Values Through Play seeks to challenge scholars to consider how game design can be developed and improved to foster ethical thinking and discussion. Working from a multidisciplinary perspective, the book’s author/editors: Karen Schrier (Columbia University); David Gibson (University of Vermont) hope to inspire further dialogue and research toward building an ethical community through games.
